At the age of nine, I accepted Jesus as my personal Savior at R A camp at Pineywoods Baptist Encampment in east Texas. The grandson of a Baptist minister and the son of a Baptist deacon and song director, provided me the opportunity to learn of Christ’s sacrifice for me at a very early age. My Christian parents taught me by word and example. While I was a student at Stephen F. Austin University, I felt God’s call on my life and changed my major study to Voice and Music to prepare for a ministry in music. I served in 2 churches while I was a college student and then my military assignment as a chaplain’s assistant had me as the music director of the chapel choir and music program at the chapel among other duties on Fort Ord. Following military service I attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth.
Churches where I have served include First Baptist, Mansfield; Portland Ave. Baptist, Oklahoma City; Hampton Place Baptist, Dallas; Hillcrest Baptist, Jasper; First Baptist, Aledo; Hainesville Baptist, Mineola; as well as Assistant Director of Missions for the Sabine Neches Area in the areas of education and music. We have served at Holly Brook since Sept. 2011. Leading folks to worship through music has been my desire and ministry for approximately 47 years.
